19 semanas de Embarazo, casi la mitad! Almost half-way there!!

This week, we went to the Cavalia show in Chicago. It was a lot of fun. The baby can hear us now (or started to) and I think he/she enjoyed the horse show. Abby came to Chicago by surprise, it was fun to see her. We also celebrated Mike's grandparents' birthdays (they both turned 85 or 86). Paola started feeling the baby little kicks about two weeks ago, and now is more frequent. We will find out the sex of the baby soon!!!

Esta semana fuimos a ver el show de Cavalia en Chicago. Estuvo muy alegre y a mi me encanto. El bebe o la bebe puede escucharnos ahora (o ya empezo a escucharnos) y creo que ella/el disfruto del show de los caballos. Abby nos cayo en Chicago de sorpresa por un par de horas. Tambien celebramos el cumpleanios de los abuelitos de Mike (cumplieron 85 u 86). Paola empezo a sentir al bebe patear un poquito hace dos semanas, y ahora es mas seguido. Vamos a saber si es bebe o beba muy pronto!!!!

This is Mike contributing for the first time. We went to the air and water show this past weekend and baby likes planes! I think he/she is gonna be a fighter pilot. Personally, I am busy opening the new restaurant that should be open in the next couple of weeks, which is when I will disappear from the world and Paola will become a single mother (expecting) for a few months until things are running smoothly at the new place. Next week we find out the sex and we will finally know who, out of all the guessers who based their predictions on black magic and old wives' tales, was right about the sex. We still haven't decided if we will tell anyone after we know though. I am craving bourbon, ice cream, and any free moment I can find, because they are my last for the next 18 years at least.

Escribe Mike por el primer vez. Fuimos a ver el espectaculo de aviones este fin de semana pasado. Le gustan aviones al bebe. El/ella va a ser piloto de guerra. Ahorita estoy trabajando para abrir el nuevo restaurante que probablamente va a abrir en un par de semanas. Esa va a estar cuando Paola cambia a una madre sin esposo hasta que todo esta corriendo bien en el nuevo restaurante. La proxima semana vamos a averiguar el sexo del bebe y tambien vamos a averiguar quienes que han adivinado el sexo por el uso de santeria estan correctos, y los que equivecaron. Pero, ya no hemos decidido si vamos a decir a todos el sexo. Ahorita tengo antojos de bourbon, helados, y cada moment libre que puedo tener porque son mis ultimos para la proxima 18 anios al menos.

Hola!! Perdon que no he puesto fotos hasta ahora. Aqui estan un par de fotos mas. Esta foto fue despues que fuimos a jugar boliche con nuestros amigos. Caminamos la media maraton de Chicago el 2 de agosto. El dia estuvo divino!
We fast-walked the Chicago Half-Marathon on August 2nd. The day was beautiful!

Paola a las 15 semanas

Ya me esta creciendo la panzita!! Esta semana fue el cumple de Maisy, y me perdi la fiesta con el mariachi oompa loompa, lastima!!!

My belly is growing!! This week was Maisy's birthday, and I missed the party with the oompa loompa mariachi! Bummer!

Aqui les estoy posando para que vean mi panza a las 14 semanas de embarazo. Esta semana fue la boda de Reny y Gretchen, donde nos enlodamos. El lugar es super lindo, en New York, en el Lago Erie. El bebe se ha portado super bien. Esta es la primera semana que al fin me salio la panza!!! Estoy feliz, aunque encontrar un vestido que funcionara para la boda fue un poco dificil, tuve suerte de encontrar uno que ya tenia.
Mike tambien esta posando para que vean su panza a las 14 semanas.

We are posing for the picture of our bellies at 14 weeks. This week was Reny and Gretchen's wedding, where everyone got full of mud. The place was beautiful, in Lake Erie, NY. The baby has behaved well. This is the first week that my belly grew! I am happy, but finding a dress for the wedding was a little difficult. I was lucky that I could use one that I already owned.

First Trimester

During our first trimester, I was super tired. All I wanted to do is sleep. I thought I was tired because I was training for a half-marathon, but then we found out I was pregnant and it all made sense!

Durante el primer trimestre, estuve super cansada. Solo queria dormir. Pense que estaba cansada porque estaba entrenando para la media maraton en San Diego, y luego nos dimos cuenta que era porque estaba embarazada!! Eso si tenia sentido!

I ran the San Diego Half-Marathon on May 31, 2009 (see pic on the left). Our baby was 7 weeks old. Mike did half of it with me to make sure that I was going to keep my heart rate low. He is such a good husband and dad-to-be!
Corri la media maraton en San Diego el 31 de Mayo, 2009. Nuestro baby tenia 7 semanas. Mike hizo la mitad de la media maraton conmigo para asegurarse que mi ritmo cardiaco estuviera bajo. Es tan buen esposo y futuro papa!!
My belly has not grown at all. I haven't been nauseous, only for a couple of weeks, but then it went away. I was very lucky. I have been so hungry, and I eat a lot of oranges, lemons, limes, bananas, and milk, that is all I want to eat all the time. I gained 3 pounds during my first trimester. Mi panza no ha crecido todavia. No he tenido nauseas, solo un par de semanas, pero se me quitaron rapido. Tuve suerte. He tenido mucha hambre, y he comido un monton de naranjas, limones, limas, bananos, y leche, es lo unico que quiero comer todo el tiempo. Me subi 3 libras durante el primer trimestre.

My parents cried when I told them the news. Mike's mom cried too and his dad was super excited. We told our moms on Mother's Day. Flor de Liz, my best friend, cried too. What is up with everyone crying?? They all made me cry as well, but it was all tears of happiness! We are so excited about having a baby. Mis papas lloraron cuando les di las noticias. La mama de Mike lloro tambien y su papa esta muy emocionado. Le contamos a nuestras mamas, las futuras abuelas, en el dia de las madres. Flor de Liz, mi mejor amiga, tambien lloro. Por que llora todo el mundo? Todos me hicieron llorar tambien, pero son lagrimas de alegria!! Estamos tan emocionados por la venida del baby.
